Hello, I’m Emma/EJ an HR Consultant at You HR Consultancy
My Background
I began my early career in retail, and quickly understood the importance of excellent customer service and the ability to build great relationships. I realised that the aspects of work that I really loved were the fundamentals of Human Resources. I then began my Level 3 CIPD in HRM whilst working as a Medical Receptionist within the NHS. Once completing my qualification, I had my first real role within a busy Human Resources Department at a not-for-profit care and housing association. There, I worked as an HR Recruitment Advisor whilst studying for my Level 5 CIPD in HRM which was a huge eyeopener to the many varied ways and techniques of recruitment, and wider HR activities.

My previous role before I started my journey with You HR was as a HR & Organisational Development Assistant for Sport Wales, under the Welsh Government. It was there that I honed my advisory skills and put my knowledge into practise in every area of Human Resources.
My Approach
I consider myself to be a very effective communicator, always eager to put others needs above my own. I'm flexible to changing environments and know how to adapt my style, whilst maintaining a consistent approach.

I truly am a people person and always want to take the extra steps to support and develop those around me with any needs or issues they may be experiencing. I like to think I have a great sense of humour but can also bring an element of calm to whatever situation I’m in.
Why You HR Consultancy
I always want to work for an organisation that shares the same values as me. You HR Consultancy is exactly the place where I know I can thrive, as their words are always put into actions, and they put people at the heart of everything they do.

Being around like-minded individuals in a nurturing and supporting environment is really important to me, as well as being able to develop myself further and sharing my learning with the team. That’s why when I started working at You HR I realised that this is the perfect place for me to be!
My interests
My main interest is music! I absolutely love creating and writing music whether it’s singing, playing guitar, bass, or piano. I spend most of my evenings making songs and annoying my partner with silly tunes I have come up with!

I have a dog, Evie, who is far more important to me than a dog should be to a human! I love to go for long walks with her and play in our garden together.

I really enjoy spending time with friends and family, especially when my Grandad and I get to catch up with a nice glass of red!
