Hello, I’m Felicity a HR Consultant at You HR Consultancy
My Background
I started my HR career in a small team for a security services company, where I was introduced to the full array of HR activities, learnt a solid grounding of employment legislation, and gained hands on experience in a variety of employee relations matters. I then joined a large organisation where I was able to play a part in developing and shaping the HR function and service centre. I studied for my Level 7 CIPD qualification in HRM, whilst managing a number of service centre teams, which gave me great insight into the role of the line manager. After a successful integration of 2 large businesses, the outsourcing of employee relations, and the transition of work from one end of the country to the other, I was ready for a new challenge! It was then that I moved into an operational HR Business Partner role within the Utilities sector, and developed my skills as a strategic partner. After 3 years travelling around the country, I decided it was time to specialise and start a family. I specialised in Talent Management and HR Bidding, before finally finding my heart in Workplace Wellbeing, and qualifying as a Mental Health Fist Aid Instructor.
My Approach
I am creative and exploratory, yet love to give shape and structure to abstract ideas! Colleagues describe me as good in a crisis, and calm and measured under pressure. I love the buzz of working as a team to reach shared goals. As an ambivert I am adaptable to working with others, or quietly by myself as needed. I’m an advocate for Inclusion with a strong sense of justice and seek solutions that are good for people and good for business.

Why You HR Consultancy
Post pandemic, HR has an important role to play in shaping the future of work. Keen to take the insights I have from working in wellbeing into generalist HR, I was introduced to You HR and captivated by their approach, which really is ‘All about the People’! I am passionate about enabling others in realising their potential, taking opportunities, and supporting management capability to create better places to work. We spend a third of our lives at work – why not make it inspirational!
My interests
I love learning new things, so can often be found reading non-fiction around topics which ignite me; self-development, spirituality, feminism and the odd parenting book when my two kids are proving a handful! I met my husband when I auditioned to sing in his band, and whilst this has taken a backseat in recent years, we’re only a couple of years off our 5 yearly reunion. We don’t do life by halves – we built our own home in 2015, and are hoping to embark on another project in the not too distant future. But when the busy days are done, I love nothing more than snuggling up on the sofa with my two cats Dora and Dennis in front of Emmerdale.
